In this week’s episode we are going to talk about the Portland Maine music scene and the best music venues in Portland Maine. We talk about Sun Tiki Studios, which is a great practice space and venue for local musicians. Another great venue is One Longfellow Square, which is a nonprofit space that you can rent out for an event, or attend a great show! If you are looking for a bar, check out Flask, where they have DJ sets, karaoke, and small shows! If you are looking for a larger show with touring bands, Thompson’s Point is an amazing outdoor venue that partners with the State theater for shows featuring touring bands. You can also grab some food from a local food truck and enjoy being right on the water while enjoying your favorite band! If you want some Jazz, Bluegrass, or Irish Music check out Blue, right on congress street. Or if you want some rock music, go across the street to Geno’s Rock Club for some pool, booze, and rock bands! Down the street is The State Theater, where you can see touring bands and special events. Portland House of Music, is another large space that has a great sound system and fun shows. A newer venue that took over the Asylum called Aura is a multi-tiered venue that is a very cool place to watch a show. The Apohadion Theater hosts a lot of local bands, as well as touring bands. Last but not least we talk about the Space Gallery, which is next to Maine College of Art. There are a ton of music venues in Portland Maine, so which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments – did we forget about your favorite? As always remember if you Make Maine Your Home, you don’t have to do it alone!
