September 2012 - Real Estate Market Update

This market report gives you the real estate activity for the Greater Portland, Maine area. Even though most numbers went down from last month the numbers are still pretty good. As we get closer to winter we will see numbers go down but they haven’t gone down that much yet. Lets hope this activity keeps going through the winter.

The following Multiple Listing Service (MLS) information is for the month of September 2012. Towns included in this report are Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Westbrook, Falmouth, Windham and Cumberland.

Number of Current Listings = 1043 (down from last month)

Number of New Listings Added = 213 (down from last month)

Number of Properties That Went Under Contract = 195 (down from last month)

Number of Sold Properties = 191 (down from last month)

Number of Expired Listings = 124 (up from last month)

Average Sold Price = $302,339 (up from last month)
