In this week’s episode we are focusing on the Portland Trail System. Portland Maine has an amazing system of over 70 miles of trails that are open year round! Volunteers and park officials help maintain these amazing trails that allow you to take in the beauty of Portland Maine. There are tons of trails to choose from and explore but in this video we focus on four of our favorites! The Fore River Sanctuary is an amazing place to hike, where you get to see the marshes, woods, amazing man made bridges, and jewel falls. Next we talk about the Presumpscot River Preserve, with beautiful water views, waterfalls, and swimming spots! A very different trail is the Eastern Prom trail, which is mostly paved and runs along the East End Beach, and connects to the Back Cove Trail. The Back Cove Trail is a great 3.5 mile loop around the Back Cove, and has an amazing view of the Portland Skyline. Where is your favorite trail? Where do you like to go hiking in the Portland area? If you have any questions let us know down below and remember, if you Make Maine Your Home, you don’t have to do it alone!
