Maine Home Prices - Not Far From the "Peak"

This graphic shows that Maine's peak prices were in July of 2006 and we are only 4.7% down from that peak right now.  It is great to see prices coming back and lets hope within a year or two we will start seeing prices go higher than the peak.

Home Buyer Activity 3 Times Greater Than Last Year

This graphic says a lot about what is happening right now in the current real estate market.  This information plus the fact that inventory is low makes it very frustrating for buyers.  The good thing is interest rates are still very low which makes buying a house very attractive.  If you are thinking of selling or have land that you have thought about selling now is a great time to put in on the market.

The Downpayment

I was a little surprised to see so many people believe they need at least 15% down to buy a house.  While it is recommend to put as much down as you are comfortable with, there are options to buy a home with as little as $0 down.  Often times we can make it so the buyer doesn't need to bring cash for closing costs.  Share this with your friends and let people know these options exist.
